Steering wheel squeak

Steering wheel squeak. Yet another defender 'personality trait' I am sure. But, my 97 110 CSW's standard steering wheel really squeaks when she has been left in the sun. I may well get a new steering wheel at some point but with the summer coming up, has anyone found a remedy for this? I have tried some spray lubricant which worked for a short while but not for long. Any ideas?

mine does it. On mine it's the cowl catching the wheel. I have to adjust it every now and again to stop it. I think it's everything swelling in the heat 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)

Use a silicon contact lubricant. - Maplins or Amazon
