Defender TD5 Tailpipe Removal
Hi All, Am new to the Forum so hello! I have a Defender TD5 90 2001 I had a broken centre box and when I came to change it I realised that the tail pipe section was also in need of replacement, I have purchased all the parts and come to remove the tailpipe section and can't seem to work out how to get it off. My question is can you do this without a ramp? or even on stands as I think you need to drop the rear end of the exhaust about four feet to get the tailpipe to Centre box curve over the rear axle? any help would be appreciated, look forward to your responses

Hi, I swapped mine by just jacking the chassis up, came out fine with a bit of twisting.

Cheers

As Simon mentioned its alot easier jacking up the body to remove the pipes, you have more room and better angles.
