I'd go with sound deadening, and some closed cell foam on the sides, along with the mud trim pieces or similar.
Then deadening, CCF and maybe ply line the load area? Or tread plate? |

Thanks miker, what's CCF I wondered? Oh i should have added that I'd liek to avoid drilling so ply lining or chequer plate isn't gonna be for me. I guess really I'm looking for some nice looking, but cleanable and rugged carpeting type affair, but with adhesive that will be removable without three days of melting adhesive down with chemicals to get it off.

CCF = Closed Cell Foam
If we're allowed to receommend suppliers on here, Sound deadening shop have a wide variety of brands, prices and bulk packs. Not sure what to recommend for your carpeting dilemna. It's difficult to attach anything when mounting holes and glue are out of the question! Double sided carpet tape would work, but that's pretty sticky as well. |

Ha ha ha, yeah not giving you much option without drilled holes or glue!! I guess what I'm asking, a question for a trimmer perhaps, is whether there is an adhesive which is easier to remove than the usual which takes hours and hours should one decide that they want to remove it. Another thought i had is possibly to line the interior with PPF, paint protection film, then the glue could go on top of that and if removal was required the ppf could just be pulled up as that'd be much easier than manually removing the glue.
Ah, CCF, got it and thanks for the recommendation on the Sound Deadening Shop, I'll check them out. I'm just in the middle of looking at those Mud 90HT sidepanels which look interesting. I bet it's a job to fit these things, and any other interior stuff, well enough that it doesn't end up resonating or rattling at certain road speeds and rpms, lots of adhesive points i guess is the key here. |

It's probably worth speaking to Chris at CSK in Hoddesdon. He's doing mine at the moment. 2013 90 HT

I've used TGE side panels to protect the sides and the rubber land rover mat to protect the floor and raised sides.
The TGE panels require no drilling, (just remove the seat belt hangers and they slot in behind and then refit hangers), they have a carpeted finish and were good value. I think around £110 delivered from memory. ![]() Click image to enlarge 2015 Defender 90XS HT |

Thank you, I had found that, but couldn't find any reference to their construction apart from 'a rigid structure'. Also interested to learn if you have any rattling issues since they only seem to have one mounting point? Thanks for your help. |

For the floor, rubber horse mat,easily removed for cleaning/drying,provides good sound noise insulation (nearly an inch thick).For the wheel boxes I glued 1.5mm rubber sheet,also on the sides but added ccf anorl (same for the cabin). Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

No rattling from the panels that I've noticed since fitting them. The general noise levels from the rear of my HT are definitely lower with the mat and side panels fitted. ![]() Unfortunately I can't remember what the panels are made of but if you send an email to TGE I'm sure they could confirm what they are constructed from for you. 2015 Defender 90XS HT |
