picture of Mk2 Sankey on back of Defender any one have one?
Hello

I'm almost about to buy a Mk2 Sankey for camping but want to check it will sit level even with a drop plate on the highest setting.

Its a Mk2 with the towing bracket slightly higher.

Anyone have a picture showing this set up. This is the trailer

I don't think it will sit level. Not 100% sure about Sankey, but the Penman (Sankey replacement) was designed with a slight nose down profile to ensure the correct nose weight when fully laden. That's based on it being hitched to a Land Rover wolf with a NATO hitch bolted straight to the crossmember, which is about 3" higher than a drop hitch's highest setting..

Not the best photo by a long shot, but this is a penman trailer fitted to the highest point on a Dixon bate drop hitch.

Hello

Ok don't mind slightly nose down but has to be pretty level for looks.....

Would changing the tyres make it sit slightly better?

When towing it is best to have a trailer that will be safe rather than looking good. The last thing you want is a trailer snaking all over the road and with a short wheelbase it all goes pear shaped very quickly.
