Non starting tdi 300
I've never had an issue with my tdi starting until today. Yesterday I was playing around with the side lights and this morning I thought I had a flat battery. Checked with a multi meter and had 12,5 v at the batter and could hear relay clicking when the key was turned but the starter motor wasn't cranking. After a great deal of fault tracing, I jiggled the low tension lead (I think) from the starter and it then fired up. Could a bad connection on the small cable to the starter cause this or is it just coincidence?

It is a common occourence, the female of the terminals can become "less tight" just a squeeze with some pliers can remedy that. A squirt of contact cleaner is a good idea, it'll be fine if it's a stiff fit, that gives a good electrical contact then Thumbs Up
