Year, mileage? [Apologies if you've supplied the info before]. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

I'd still like to know, as per your previous post, accident details, what precisely was repaired, photos etc.
The firm that actually did the repairs should be able to help you. Pickles. |

Walk away and keep looking.
You will always have an uneasy feeling about this vehicle if you buy it, every little knock, bang or rattle will have you wondering if that is just normal Defender noises or if it is something to do with the previous damage. You'll then try to sell it on and be offered lower than book price by the same dealer due to the below standard repairs. Or stuggle to shift it as others will question the damage/repairs and walk away. Better to find the right car based on condition. |

Hi all,
I let it pass. This is very clear now that more details emerge. Service history is apparently patchy as well. Seems like there were no inspections except one. So: no more Land Rover warranty, a car with considerable crash damage, and not a bargain either - no, thanks. Shows how valuable it is to trust your gut and the fine folks of defender2.net! To me, it's also a very valuable lesson. Keep cool when you look for a Defender and take your time to inform yourself. No matter how much you miss your old car. Thank you very much everyone! |

Absolutely! While I miss my old car, shopping around for a nice and new one is a lot of fun, too... |

You might be lucky if you post a few pic on here and describe roughly what the damage was, you may well find the original owner? and thus a good idea to what sort of damage occurred, for all you know it was rolled numerous times, the chassis could be twisted etc..
always worth a try.. ![]() ![]() |
