Best place to sell a car?
With the mrs now having the double cab we need to sell her old polo, it's in good condition so we put it on eBay for a month at maybe an optimistic price (although it has a few factory extras like heated leather seats etc) but with ono and we only had one person ring up. So my question is where's best to advertise these days? It got a few hundred views on eBay so do you think I should just stick it back on with a lower price or is auto trader better or any other place? Any advise appreciated Thumbs Up
Cheers

Still trying to sell the Mrs Mito ! Put it on autotrader for 6 weeks, cheapest of its type, about 500 views and 1 viewing...... Total waste of time, wanting to knock the price, and made up issues ! Asked if I wanted to sell the car, and was most upset when I agreed with him and told him to do one. Currently outside with a big for sale sign......... and still no interest Rolling Eyes If you find a way to sell it please let me know

Well I wouldn't use a company starting with 'We Buy' for many reasons.
But no doubt someone may disagree

Autotrader and/or eBay can work OK but you need to be realistic with the price AND make sure you provide as much information and pics as you can.

I'm looking to buy at the moment and it's pretty amazing (and annoying) to me that people expect you to travel 50+ miles to see a car and spend over £2000 to buy it when they can't be bothered to fill in any information or supply more than one photo taken in the dark, in portrait, in a snow storm.

From a buyers PoV Ebay is good if you want a generic "car" but if you want a specific make/model and so on it's a bit limited but it does seem that a lot of the dealers advertise the same vehicles on both these days so there's probably value in advertising on both. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

Unless your car is very special there are hundreds of similar cars out there..its a tough ask selling a used car.

As stated a clear bright Ad with all details and well presented. Don't over sell it.

"Genuine reason for sale" does not cut it! Maybe you want to dump it because the gearbox has gone..its a genuine reason! Whistle

Make your Ad stand out and... always the difficult one..don't over value it.

As an ex car salesman I was taught to "remove the blockers" Idea

If it needs an MOT..do it
If it needs a tyre..replace it
if the exhaust is blowing ..fix it...You get the idea!

I wish you luck.

Autotrader has always worked well for me. Gumtree too.

Clemmo Thumbs Up Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow....

Cheers chaps Thumbs Up I've made sure everything is fixed and up to date and good pics of all the way around have been put up so I guess I'll drop the price a bit and stick it back on eBay and auto trader as well Thumbs Up Ray

D3 - 2.7 S x2 (both Sold)

Have you tried your local newspaper?

You would be supprised, as many people can't be bothered to travel miles to look at cars!

A friend of mine would only look at cars if only in a 5 mile radius of his house Rolling Eyes 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered.
