Chelsea is 3 what to do
Well our 110 XS Rimini Red CSW is coming up to 3 years old. What to do? Keep her without warranty? Keep her and extend the warranty. Get rid and replace her?
In all fairness she has been trouble free compared to the early Utility we had. She has covered 37k, had a new rear diff at 17 miles clutch was replaced at about 24k vacuum pump and EGR have both also been replaced. Basically the standard issues that are now resolved.
Ultimately its the other half's company car so its her decision. It does get used as a site vehicle when we are busy so if replaced it will have to be replaced with a similar type of vehicle. We were hoping that the new Defender (Ikon) would be out by now but that ain't happening for a few years.
The other half is toying with a Stornoway Grey 130 DCHCPU or a 110 DCPU. TBH I think I will just sit back and let her decide. Whatever her choice its going to be a Defender Laughing 130's have feeling's as well you know Smile

Andrew as its company use replace her yes shes been largely trouble free however new Commercial vehicle regs cheaper tax VAT reclaim plus if Chelsea breaks down away from base you have a car rental headache etc at least with a new one its one less thing to worry about. Agree it would be nice to keep her but for your use and a company name a new one is probably in order

I think with only 37K and most know prolems solved the chanche that Chelsea will brake down is a lot less then a new one. So keep her. Does a full AA not give you a rental car might Chelsea brake down? The Dutch ANWB do if you have the right cover taken.

If you say a 130 is for life, why not all Defenders? Or even Land Rovers? Roel

Yes but what do you get when the new defender brakes down?
But my point was that Chelsea might be more relyable then a new one.

I never had a LR with factory waranty, my D3 G4 was close just 17 days out. But I had Nene's waranty.
I had a small list after 3 months and Nene solved them all. And now 60000 km later still no problems.

So I wouldn't worry to much and keep it. Roel
