I do know they can't protrude beyond the outside of the steering wheel.

One curbstone and it might be legal for him to drive with it. Twisted Evil
I like my Thumbs too much so I will never have one on my steering wheel. Roel

My own personal favourite, cheapest and most functional modification still has to be AndrewS's alarm operating range increase modification...

Thumbs Up

pom, ive had one fitted to my steering wheel (300tdi) for the last 5 years and I think its brill.

When I changed my standard steering wheel for a smaller one I found it was a little harder to turn (less leverage I guess). The steering knob gives full lock super fast, especially when doing 7 point turns Laughing

And being able to drive one handed allows me to keep the other hand free to pick my nose or scratch my balls Laughing

Rolling with laughter I wish Mr. Green

Its actually my secret window demister. It works super fast and clears the inside of the windscreen in about 2 seconds. Perhaps by far the best mod I have done to my Defender. Ill pop out and take a better photo of it, and post back in a few minutes.
