Long Range Fuel Tank
I am thinking of getting a long Range fuel tank from Britpart.

Does anyone use one and how do they find it.

Cheers

No idea about Britpart fuel tank, do not know who makes it.

Play a game of 20 questions with me as the choice of long range fuel tanks is not 100% straight forward.

90 or 110?

Original chassis or replacement chassis?

Standard suspension or twin shocks?

Seat belts in rear tub?

Original fuel tank?

Plastic for 90 or Ali, mild steel or stainless for 110

110 wing tank single or double skinned bottom?

Larger main tank is possible but then what towing equipment do you want to use?

On one of our 110 we had 170 litre fuel capacity, you can go up to about 330 litres on a 110! So what fuel capacity is required?

I would go for the frontrunner one. From all the parts I have from Brit Part, not one is of good quality. Ok for light protection and other small addons, but for a fuel tank I'd sure don't want to take any risk. 28/02 - Loss of a good friend...

The Britpart gives an extra 45 Litres.

I do a lot of motorway driving and thought it would be beneficial to have a bigger tank.

I am driving a year old 110 Utility.

There are good reasons why we ask 20 questions Razz

Think very carefully if you are likely to fit rear bumperettes or a single pivot wheel carrier in the future.

A wing tank severely hampers the access to fitting these once it is fitted. You do not really want to be dropping a wing tank to fit a wheel carrier two weeks after fitting the tank.!

We can supply various long range tanks from 120 litre main tanks which have implications to towing equipment and tank guards

We can also supply 45 litre flow through fuel tank as well note comment about wheel carrier.

These are available in mild steel or stainless steel .

For normal UK road use would suggest mild steel and single bottom

Thanks for the advice.

Not going to bother with the extra tank.

Far to complicated!!!!

with 2 persons, just under 4 hrs for the Frontrunner. Straight forward job.
Hardest part is fitting the filling tube. 28/02 - Loss of a good friend...
