A little bit of.... Hot Air
Just posting in case its useful to someone....

There are lots of different ways of heating heat shrink tubing. I've been known to be lazy and use the barrel of the soldering iron (v. sloppy!) or you can use a hot air gun (big and bulky) or one of those little propane hot air torches (the one I had was a bit pathetic and didn't get warm enough).

I just happened to fall across this on Amazon and its absolutely perfect to keep with my soldering kit. Nice and small but plenty hot enough for heat shrink and those pre-soldered butt splice jobbies.

Oh and it didn't have that branding on it either. Just plain black. Image in the workshop is of course important Thumbs Up

You just can never have enough tools Razz

I use to use a candle which worked really well unless it was windy so now I use a hot air paint stripper, 1600w and it beats all else.. works in very windy weather.
