"the Prime Minister told the Express & Star that he thought the massive success of Jaguar Land Rover had contributed to Goodyear's planned exit after 90 years in the city because the car maker had bought up so much land.

Goodyear has blamed the strength of the pound and the low cost of imported rivals for deciding to shut its site off Stafford Road in 2017, when it would have been celebrating nine decades in Wolverhampton.

Around 330 jobs will go and workers have told of their disgust after being offered alternative employment with the company, but only if they move to Mexico."
