Towpack query on 90

I have a "flat plate" towpack on my 90 and I have a question about moving it around a little. At the moment it sits as it did from the factory. I would like to move the plate upwards to improve the departure angle of the vehicle. Can I do this simply by unbolting the chassis bolts and lifting it up and revolting it or do I have to start doing modifications?
I plan to reroute the electrics through the hole in the rear cross member to enable the plate to be lifted up.
