My 2015 Defender 90 XS
It has taken me quite awhile to come to this point. I started looking at Defenders in 2007 and after having a few bad experience with LR dealers, I shelved the idea. Scroll forward a few years and I thought I'd give it another go but look privately. I started by looking at a few that were described by owners as "well cared for" and soon realised that their idea of 'cared for' and mine were very different. I persevered for awhile, then an unexpected bill knocked looking for a Defender on the head and, again, I set aside the idea of owning one.

Scrolling forward to this year and it was either now or, possibly, never if I wanted a factory fresh one. I called around and after a bit of hunting and an introduction via a friend, I found a suitable 90 XS. Whilst I liked the look of Corris and the black pack, my other car is a similar colour and therefore I decided on Santorini. I had the dealer add the black pack grills and Sawtooths before I took delivery.

Here it is on delivery day - 'Can you tell what it is yet?'

...finally!

I've got it booked in to have the full corrosion protection done and will be adding a Nakatanenga wheel carrier at the same time. I don't have any other mods in the pipeline and am trying to avoid the slippery slope of modification. I've been there before and it can get expensive rapidly; as it is, I'm really enjoying my 90 fresh out of the box.

VERY smart looking Defender, & something to be proud of,......
IF, you can keep it clean???!!!
Perhaps in the UK, dust is not such a problem as down here, but I had a black car once, & it was SO hard to keep clean!!
But of course, when Black is "BLACK", it looks sensational.
Enjoy, Pickles.

I did. It made a lot of sense... well, at least when I used 'man-logic'. Mr. Green

I saw your new XS in your thread - she is also a beauty. Congrats.

Black is a pain to keep clean here also. If it isn't road grime, it is pollen from the trees.

However, whilst I feel the need to clean black sports cars, I actually don't mind dirty black 4WD vehicles. My previous 4WD was black and whilst it looked great when it was clean, there was something very satisfying seeing it dirty.

I have the carpet kit in mine but have put down the load area rubber matt and front set. My wife got in this weekend and our dog (and children) had been in it earlier and her immediate comment was "it is nice to see one of your cars getting dirty and looking used!" (there was obvious signs of our earlier walk - muddy foot and paw prints, etc). My attitude is that she is there to be used and whilst I'll pamper her, she will get dirty and be used as she should. Thumbs Up

looks really nice, so neat in all black!

i like the fact that DEFENDER on the bonnet is in silver - but it looks like it's in indus silver, not brunel! which i like even more Very Happy is this something you specifically asked for or did just come like that?

good luck with it and many happy miles Thumbs Up
