Noisy RoverDrive
Hi All

I have a 110 TD5 with a RoverDrive (now called RoamerDrive, I believe) fitted, fantastic for economy and gives the 110 extra legs on long distance trips......... but it has suddenly started being a little noisy. Oil levels are fine...... does anyone have any hands on experience of the RoverDrive unit - it was on the vehicle when I purchased it so I am a little nervous about running out of my limited technical talent!! Any advice greatly received.

Thanks

What oil have you been running? Sticking stringently to the GL4 spec?

As far as I can tell, the reason for GL4 is the yellow metals.

General GL5 oils dont meet the required testing or in fact arent tested to that specific.

Some of the higher quality GL5/5+ oils meet the MIL-L-2105D/E which cover the same (if not better) yellow metals testing as GL4.

I did contact them to ask about this but never got a reply!

Hi,
I've had a Roamerdrive in "Santa" my Series 3 for about 6 mths and given the mileage it does (not a lot) its now getting quieter. Also put one in "Gertie" my other 110 about year ago and once it settled down we don't even notice it. Certainly made sure I put the right oil in it

Have found the roamerdrive people in the UK very helpful

Hi All

I might have the wrong oil..... the oil that came with it is GL4/GL5...... Big Cry so... I might have caused the problem travelling back from the Pyrennees.

So off it comes to have a closer look....

Cheers for your help
