2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Stornoway Grey

clutch post

i am likely to be having a blonde moment!

Where did the post ref clutch noise go, specifically the one that mentions the rattle when you turn it off without depressing the pedal?

Mine is doing it very badly, gear change is also harder than it used to be and the pedal is alot heavier than it used to be, could do with knowing what to say to the dealers to get them to sort the revised clutch release plate as its been in already and apparently ' thats normal sir'................!

It has also started making a noise, more pronounced when cold, in low 1st or rev when under slight load. (No its not the anti stall!) Dealer couldn't replicate this noise! Cheers

Try capturing it on video, ask for the service manager to come out for a ride - just keep on it Mike

You need to keep working on them - point them in the direction of a service action, arm yourself with a video of the problem, highlight others you know with the problem (use me if you like)

I have been there - it took 2 visits to the first dealer for the 1st clutch and maybe 3 or 4 for the second clutch Mike

Thank you. Rest assured i won't let it rest.

I have already demo'd the noise to the guy who collects the vehicle who is one of their sales guys. not ideal but then its a trek to the dealers!

what was the service action number? Cheers

2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Chawton White

since a 1000 km I got a high pitch rattle (clink-clink-clink) coming from the clutch area, especially when the clutch pedal is depressed. The frequency matches with engine revs somehow.

I imagine these are loose springs from the clutch plate. I do not have any other symptoms. Anyone got the same? this clutch assy is 4000 km since last change

mine didn't do that when the engine was running. do you get anything noise wise when you turn if off with the clutch up?

in the end they fitted tow new release covers to mine seems sorted now. clutch is lighter again too. Cheers
