2014 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 HT Corris Grey

Central locking rear side doors

I have factory installed central locking on a 110 Td5 and the rear passenger doors have both stopped locking/unlocking. I could understand it more if just one door wasn't working but is there some control or fuse that activates both the rear side doors? Both front doors and rear door are still fine.

The wires will have broken in the rubber boot inbetween the b post and door, it's quite a common problem Ray

The usual reason is a broken wire in the rubber sheath between the door and the B post, although for both to fail simultaneously does seem to be a bit of a coincindence.

I don't myself know of any single point of failure which would affect just the second-row doors.

There is a connector inside the B post very close to the point where the rubber sleeve is fitted. If you are getting the correct lock and unlock energisations there, but the doors aren't locking and unlocking, then it is amost certainly the broken wire problem. It is unlikely that both actuators have failed simultaneously.

Mine did this so I then re greased all the door hinges with silicone spray grease, and all the latches and mechanisms. Problem solved clearly seized up. Give it q go
