Hi, just to clarify as I wouldn't want to upset anyone.
The wheels and tyres were advertised on behalf of a neighbour who wanted £150 each for the wheel and tyre. I told him it was too much but he insisted. I did as asked, but it have gone back to him and revised the price and also added a pair of tyres (ATs). The pms didn't disappear, but some of my emails, due to a server issue at work. By all means feel free to delete the posting if you feel you need to Martin. |

So the initial price was misleading - you clearly listed them as "£150" not £150 each.
The ads provided for free this on site are also for your own items, not your neighbour who I assume is not a member here. Why should he have the benefit of free advertising? Not happy. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

So Lee made a mistake in the first advert, big deal, are you perfect? Also, how many other items do we see on this forum listed as "for sale on behalf of a friend" or suchlike?! Not everyone has regular internet access or wants to join a forum (because of being hassled by a moderator for instance...  ) so provided the item being offered is of interest to forum members, what the hell does it matter?

It matters because last time I checked I run this forum - so it is run how I want.
I hardly think I hassle everyone on this site as you suggest. Compared to most forums what I do (and have to do) with the moderator hat on is minimal. So I assume you have some underlying issue with me or moderators in general. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

I do have an issue with people on power trips yes. But thank you for clarifying that you run the forum how you want/feel, rather than fairly. Maybe you could add that as a tag line somewhere? The Scotia Winch Challenge

Strange you should mention fairness.
I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for a little use of the forum before the free advertising system is made available. Forum ads for forum users. That seems fair. What is unfair would seem to be wanting access to everything for free and not be part of the forum. Plenty of other avenues for you to advertise on if you are not happy with how this forum is run, pay for ads on EBay perhaps. Or do you also rebel against and circumvent how others run their sites? Feel a bit sorry for Martin. I saw Martin's post as a warning shot, to play by the rules, rather than an abuse of power.
The first ad was misleading. The explanation of why a second ad appeared is a bit confusing. So I reckon it is probably fair to point out we should be open and clear with each other, we have a common interest, we are a community, but with membership rules. It's always difficult to please everyone all of the time. |

Ross I think your going a tad hard on Martin,
The way I see it Martin was just sending a warning message to Lee, as Lee only uses the forum for buying and selling with very little other contribution. In hindsight maybe a PM would have been a better option in this case. Am sure most on here will agree that Martin runs an great site

Everyone's entitled to an opinion, even me, and this great country we live in says I am free to express it, unless the moderator says otherwise of course.
