Did a few lanes today.....
Along with Jim_Bean, GregMartha and Taazukcb..

Met some very friendly 'walkers', one who was a member of the TRF and a guy with his young tot and his elderly mother, who were thrilled to be stopped and spoken to. Nice people.

I'll let pics do the talking and hopefully the guys will post some of their own on, too.

The lane from Monsal Head is apparently going to be subject to a TRO, which is a massive shame. The TRF guy was saying its due for a hearing next month and the TRF are fighting the battle.

Hi GREENI,

Which lane at Monsal is threatened with a TRO? I know between Upperdale and Brushfield is "sensitive"...

Cheers

Nice photos Steve, showing some responsible driving

This photo shows one of the problems that responsible 4x4 drivers have.

Road perfectly passable surface, wide enough for two vehicles to pass with care, however some people are not content with driving on the roads but have to drive 'off road'

Then 4x4 drivers wonder why TRO are imposed!

Unfortunately Brendan, we saw quite a bit of it. Brushfield (josefk) being the threatened lane.

Having driven these lanes for the past 5-6 years, I have seen a lot of damage, restraints and also good sections of recovery.

I have also driven a lot of lanes that are now closed.

There was a section that had recently had 5-6 signs put up, telling people of the laws against 'off piste' driving.

We did see a group of lads that were on an off-piste section, though I wasn't sure they moved aside to let us through, or had driven over it. As we couldn't prove it, I said nothing. Though you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, the cars were full of 'youths' and 'seemed the type'. A quick flick through the cb channels to find them didn't work.
