Drag Link - Shorten How ?

14MY 90 PU. RH Drive

Tracking is perfect, but my steering wheel is very slightly down RIGHT to go straight ahead.

This implies my drag link needs shortening by a micro amount to correct it.

I have gotten underneath the old girl, and can see where the lowest part of the drag link (under driver) connects to a rod with 1 U clamp and 1 bolt.

The drag link is a 2 tube sloping section. The lowest section under the driver going up over to the passenger side and fitting inside a larger (threaded?) tube.

To shorten the link, do I undo the U clamp and twist the lower (and smaller) part of the drag link?

If so, do I twist forwards or backwards to shorten?

Sounds like you might be getting mixed up with the steering damper? The drag link is a plain metal rod about 22mm thick. The only way to know which way to turn the rod is trial and error or see if you can see any exposed threads at the end and work it out from there.

I recently adjusted mine to correct the steering wheel running off centre.
Just slacken the clamp at each end and turn the tube, from memory I think downwards shortens it.
About 1/2 a turn makes a fair difference, if you go the wrong way, just do it again and turn the other direction.

You need to centre and lock the steering box with a pin to make sure the wheel in on the correct splines before moving it, it may just be the drag ling.

Just done mine today. Swan neck damper bracket is a L/H thread and the corresponding TRE at the passenger wheel is R/H thread.

I have the same issue on mine.
I loosened off the clamps, but can't move the drag link. Should it be easy to rotate?
Any advise would be useful
