Puma First Service
About 9,500 miles on our August 09 110 Utility wagon

Question is how early can you have 1st service done and also how late without adversely effecting the warranty?

What sort of money have people paid for their first service?

I would give LR customer support a ring on this one - ask 10 dealers and I bet you would get 10 different answers.

Edited to add - Mine is in for service at the moment - cost £0 - Land Rover are paying Thumbs Up

Well I would agree with Bob,

However my TD5 is going to be 4 years old in september and has 37K on the clock. It has only had 3 services and that includes the service last week for 48K.
It's first service was at 12K when it was 2 years old and within the second year when I bought it, there was over a years worth of warranty issues.

The local independent LR garage has quoted me £170 inc VAT for the first service.

Will check with main stealership for the acceptable mileage range for the first service

Mine has just had it's 1 year service. It was very low milage but dealership insisted it should be allowed to go over 1000 mile or 1 month overdue. "it's for the warranty sir" they said. They were paying, not me, so although it was a terrible waste, I was not out of pocket. Did not get any paperwork back.

Not sure exactly what they did, not much probably. I applied sone tip-ex on some of the parts so I could see if they had been disturbed. I know they checked the tyre pressures, but have not gone underneeth yet to check the filler plugs.

I had the latest ECU upgrade, as requested by LR, drives the same but now get a horrible rusty gate sound just sbove idle, either increasing or decreasing. So far, despite complaints, they have not come up wit a fix. Due to meet the 'Landrover Technical man' at the dealership next week, so I will tell him what I think!

As for services we actually have to pay for, I am hoping to find an independant who can do the servicing, but need to check LR will still cover any warrenty work and will not use the excuse that it was not serviced by the stealership to dodge any claims.

Have a very good independant near me (will not mention them, AJS, oops) so will pop in on my travels to see what they say.

It was funny in the stealers, the service manager actually said to me "if you don't reckon us, why do you come back for the service?" "Cos your paying, was my reply" Rolling with laughter

As long as original parts are used and its done to spec no dodging aloud Thumbs Up I'm pretty sure the person who you didn't name will use the correct parts

How do Brendan. I have used Adventure 4x4 in Morley for years, and they are very good just to let you know as an alternative to any garages you might have used. Cheers,

All our cars use the dealer for the first 3 years then either me or an independent.

I think the first was about £300 second was £450 and the third when i have it ill let you know.

They certainly change the parts and use genuine replacements - but the service spec (as on my pic bit here) shows they dont do the same fluid changes as they used to Shocked Mike
