2010 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Stornoway Grey

HELP NEEDED on CHASSIS NUMBERS (Brand new 110 XS Utility)

Can anyone tell me how I can check the chassis number to confirm the car I am buying is in fact a new one and not an unregistered 2007 model for example?

Do the last 6 digits correspond to manufacture times??

The "Model year" identifier in the chassis number is 7 - does that not mean it is a 2007 car that hasn't been registered until now, or does it just mean it is that "shape"??? Simon S

IF you can get the VIN number of it, then stick it into the latest microcat it'll tell you the exact day it was built (my microcat is last years, so can't help i'm afraid)

microcat is the LR parts software. a windows program that has exploded diagrams for all the vehicle range back to the first 2.25 90 & 110's.

But it also has more... servicing times and shopping lists for various jobs, plus the VIN identifier, where (on later vehicles... 2002-ish onwards) if you stick the VIN into it, it'll tell you the full build spec of that vehicle.

PM me it over, i'll try it, but like i say, if the vehicle is post 06/2009 then my version won't cover it (note to ones-self... must go to my dealers and chat them up to lend me their disk....

)

It'll tell you the exact day the car was built
