Do we conclude that it is saying something about the target market for the new Defender?

The target market's certainly not the likes of you and me - after all we own the current version that only sells in 1000's whilst JLR are looking for the market where they can sell 10's of 1000's.

Having said that my local main dealer has a smart building and he's happy to welcome me in wellies and my dog with muddy paws.

Second entrance round the back, follow the trail of engine/gearbox/diff oil to the tin shed hidden behind the tall trees hand painted on the side it says Defender showroom! Laughing
