anyone know how you could fit a switch to turn dash and switch illuimation off

so you could park with sidelights on ,but no dash/switch lights

There is a Dash Illumination feed on the early Landies. There was a switch fitted to switch off the illumination if required.
Do you have any electrical circuit diagrams for your model?

I used this feed to illuminate all the Carling switches now in my dash, very handy.

Yes on the early ones the interior light switch on the three switch panel under the dails also done the dash lights

would like to fit one to tdci defender , but finding wires is the hard bit , there is a fuse f20 that turns off dial lights but not swithch lights
