I am on this bloody 5:2 diet and today is the 'fast' with only 600 calories. All this talk of food after my solitary Apple for lunch, is not helping.... Monsieur Le Grenadier

Yep - MacSweens better than Halls'.
Some butchers do a good haggis as well. Mackinnons of Speyside in Aviemore are pretty good - you may have seen this butcher on "The Mountain" programme on telly just now. We have haggis quite a bit, not just Burns night. Usually with clapshot & greens tho... http://www.scottishrecipes.co.uk/clapshot.htm Often mash carrot, neep and maybe potato (sometimes sweet potato as well) into the clapshot, and then a bit of broccoli or sprouts on the side - not quite traditional but we try to be (fairly) healthy eaters, so like our veg ![]() |

Hi Martin
Halls used to be a client of ours, after being in the factory I never ate anything of theirs again!! They only exist in name now after Vion pulled out of the UK! Hornigs of West Calder make a good haggis too ![]() 1971 Bowler Tomcat 88 4.2 V8 Auto 2022 110 D250 XS Edition - Gone 2024 110 D250 X-Dynamic HSE |
