Problem is, no one has it....

DPF’s are not a regulation in Africa, so there is no DPF compatible oil.

Will 4000 miles using “non compatible” oil really clog the DPF?

Just had a check of the data sheet of that oil, it shows; ACEA A3/B4 which isn't a acceptable spec for the Puma 2.2 fitted with DPF.

The european spec Defender requires WSS-M2C-934-B which is a C1.

The oil in your picture is A5 which will quickly clog the DPF.

We have managed to work something out with the last of the spare oil we had with us that will see us through the lockdown before we can return to Europe and source the correct spec.

Just replaced my oil pump and used this as it seemed the best bang for my buck at £37 for 10L. That'll make 6k/12month changes cheap.

Well here we are halfway our journey and are in desperate need of an oil change on the 2.2. But we are now in the middle of United States and even the biggest auto parts supplier cannot have any of the oils listed. Any advice for us?

Reading the specification it’s a mid SAPS oil and the 2.2 with a DPF specifies a low SAPS oil. This is to prevent ash buildup in the DPF that can’t be burnt off.

Hence I would not recommend its use.

That was kind of my same thinking, although they also state:

Given that it is slightly higher viscosity, I was wondering if there could be a little less oil consumption, which would balance the sulphur/phosphorus loading of a mid vs a low saps.

Edit, just checked on Opie website https://www.opieoils.co.uk/t-acea-car-engi...ained.aspx and states:

It runs nicely, I can tell that.

The Penrite oil site provides a good insight into the ACEA standards. Including C1 is Sulphated Ash <0.5% , and C3 is Sulphated Ash < 0.8%.

These percentages are small, however in comparison C3 would potentially have 60% more sulphared ash than a C1, which would not be good for a DPF.
