Goeie morgen, niks verkeerd met 30 graden natuurlijk. Binnen een paar maanden (of eerder) vragen we daar weer naar.
Now, I think that possibly your solution might be the same as the one in the posts toward the end of below thread. It could be that same heater valve, and maybe as easy to correct as Gren did. The heater is controlled by a simple water valve in the engine compartment.
In order to find out if it is the valve or the cable thatīs at fault, you will need to disconnect the two. Under the bonnet, left hand side (on a LHD model), high up near the bulkhead. Once disconnected, you should be able to move the valve itself to itīs fully closed position, and put an end to your plight! By the way, the AC is probably working, but the heater is too powerful to overcome it. So once you cut off the heat, the cool air of the AC will return. There is a little flap thing on the heater in the engine bay, this is sometimes not closed properly via the temperature knob. Just give it a push down to close it all the way and you should find the AC working properly again. In this situation, the AC still works, it's just being overpowered by the heater.

Thank you all.
Course was indeed at the engine bay heater valve side. The clip holding the cable was lose. Heating, full-open was easy by pushing the complete cable, but closing not as there was no resistance by the clip. I am able to drive home safe (cool) now without to much hassle 😊 |

As far as I know - at least in my Defender - the heater matrix and valve in a LHD model sits at the right hand side (that is standing behind the vehicle and looking forward. 
(On the left side there is de brake servo). If, however, it is on the left hand side (also viewing from behind) above the brake servo, and not as you describe, on the same (right hand) side as the heater matrix, then Iīd like 12 bottles of your best local brew. As I said before - and I also explicitely mentioned my LHD model - under my bonnet the brake servo sits on the left (what is very logical, because it also happens I sit on the left, otherwise you have to be very gymnastic to touch the brakes), and the heater on the right. I just took a picture, standing before the bonnet looking aft, so you have to correct for that standing at the rear looking forward (and in the latter position it is not possible to take a picture with open bonnet ).

You did say "at least on my Defender" and you were right, as its a TDi. 
Well done.......well almost. As we are in the TDCi section, and the OP was asking for information applicable to his 2012 2.2....ok, ok Iīm buying!

Haha, there you have a point too! I only looked at the op's country flag, and thus supposed he was driving a LHD model. However I did not realise or know that there is such a difference between 300 Tdi and the later models - concerning heater location and layout of course. Thought because of the location of the brake servo the heater on the later models, even LHD, couln't be on the left.
So I guess we're sort of quitte - must have a beer together sometime and talk Land Rover ... Cheers, Vincent
