The upper clock / vent section has its own clips holding it in place as does the new double DIN panel, although the two touch (presuming you've done a good job cutting the top section) they aren't physically fixed together.
We've cut the bottom off switch panels but they have to be glassfibered and then painted to make a nice job of it, which is why we developed the cubby with switch positions - we are also just finishing off a 4 position cubby to accomodate the DSC control that takes up the last blank in 2015 models |

What have you been cutting the two apart with?
I was thinking much along those lines that the edge on the switch panel wouldn't be flush, fibreglass is probably tricky on an area so small as that but done properly would look flawless. I suppose the plug extensions required are using new plugs that are extended? Pity there isn't an add on loom where you can plug in male one end and fe serge other where you simply effectively add in a section using proper plugs without chopping any off. Only downside is the bulk of the plugs themselves. |

It is possible to move the switches over to the new switch panel WITHOUT extending the cables.
If you are moving the switches into an FCX cubby then we can supply premade looms that do not require cutting of anything (much like our heated seat loom) The existing panel can be cut with a hot stanley blade |

I can't believe that there no longer appears to be any car audio shops!
I've just googled and there is pretty much nothing and Halfords range looks pants! |

Only places I can think of is in Bristol, but even then they really are rubbish.
You can make a better choice online IMO. I've used In Car Music, Car Audio Direct, and Just Kenwood many times. Last edited by custom90 on 13th Dec 2014 12:07pm. Edited 1 time in total |

I got my HU years ago from Just Kenwood and speakers.
Sub and Amp etc from In Car Music. Wiring and fuses etc from CAD. Fitted it all myself, something I rather enjoy too. ![]() If you need any fitting doing or anything is a bit complicated I'd be quite happy to do it for you if need be. Professional car audio shops. ( As the call themselves ![]() Usually using cheap kit for max profit. |

hi all..just had this done by a company in Hertfordshire...the head unit is a Pioneer AVIC F60DAB with Apple Car Play and it has a reversing camera feed to a camera mounted on the rear. I've also added switches on the subsidiary panel for heated wing mirrors which they also installed and an existing rear work light.
