Injector pump and injector servicing intervals
Hi Guys,

Just wandering how long a standard 200Tdi injector pump and injectors last between servicing?

Recently she has started getting a bit smoky (MOT man commented on it Whistle) and the power is a bit down on when I got her and she has received no new injectors or looks to ever have had them looked at so when is the time to do it?

Has got 157k on the clock Thumbs Up

Also, if they are due, where is recommended to send them?

Pull the pump and squirters and have them tested. I've used kent diesel services in maidstone before as they're bosch agents and found them good. Be aware that with a bit of shopping around you'll get a new pump for around the £500 quid mark may be worth going down that route if yours turns out to be trashed and needs mega bucks spent to repair. The injectors are quite expensive to do compared to 300 tdi ones but don't be put off its well worth doing.

Thumbs Up Thanks munch! Will give them a ring and see what they think.

It's one of those things which, its working fine and I'm loathed to fiddle with it.

But I have heard they need to be refurbished every 100k miles, which is now over by a half so may be worth looking into.

I'm half tempted by Turner engineering as they do new ones on an exchange basis, but £100 (with surcharge deducted) each is £400 which is alot of money.

When we need specialist diesel services at work we have used Injection Developments at Bridge near Canterbury they have been very good, sorry don't have their number to hand but a quick search should throw it up. 2005 Td5 90 XS

Whereabouts did you hear this?

Mine have done 215,000 miles so I'm wondering if there's any mileage in getting them reconditioned. I just put a reconditioned pump on as the original was leaking and that has made a bit of a difference to power so I'm guessing the injectors will be similarly worn.

Trouble is it's one of those things where you don't want to fiddle and create problems when it's all working fine as it is...

Do you know I have completely lost that reference.

I was convinced it was in the owners manual somewhere but can't find it.

I know exactly what you mean though, don't touch what isn't broke. I still haven't done mine as I bottled out of taking them out as they seem to be working ok. Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197
