Alarm sounding when battery disconnected
I can't disconnect my battery without the alarm going off.

I have used the process of turning the ignition on/off and disconnecting the battery within 15 seconds, but it always triggers the alarm. It has worked in the past, but not now.

Any ideas what I need to check..?

Cheers

Simon

Get someone with a Nanocom or similar to alter the settings on the alarm.

Hi Simon, I guess you know you have to remove the key after turning ignition on/of, and remove negative terminal first? Cheers, Vincent

the back up sounder should not go off if you turn ign off then disconnect battery within 10-15 secs as in first post ,

I've never bothered taking the key out just turn off before disconnecting battery

can't remember the time you have to disconnect battery after turning ign off , but 15 secs doesn't ring a bell , take you have tried disconnecting as soon as possible

I would check all the fuses to do with alarm , think there are 2 or 3 fuses to do with alarm

Vincent,

Yes, removed the key and also tried both keys. I removed the earth ASAP, certainly less than 15 secs after removing key.

cheers

The 15 sec is what is stated in the owners handbook....and it has worked before so I'm a bit stumped...Sad

Cheers

^^^ I only need to swap a winch cable over, so will disconnect the battery and suffer the alarm for a few minutes... Shocked

Perhaps a pair of ear defenders is the answer...Smile

Cheers
