Have just come into the house after spending a few hours exploring and cleaning the underside of my 2014 Defender. Not a difficult task and rather interesting to see just how all the components are fitted together and what condition they are in.
After a thorough cleaning I might just apply some wax protection to the chassis - not exactly a technically challenging job - more about attention to detail. For £25 I can get a 5l tin of waxoyl and then spray it into the box sections and over the top surfaces and up the bulkhead. Might even do the internals of the doors. If I run out another £25 should easily finish the job. Is someone having a laugh charging hundreds of pounds for this exercise - must be quite a profit margin! Oh and whilst I was exploring the underside - not a single defect was noted - no weeping joints, drips, missing parts, loose components. Looks like I got a good one from the factory. |

it has to be worthwhile, if you do nothing else to your truck; rustproof it, its the first thing I do

Or with Bilt Hamber Dynax. The cans are 750ml, highly pressurised, spray at any angle and leave a great finish. Easy DIY job once you've got it clean. In reality the cleaning is the really time-consuming part. |
