air filter
hi guys im using the itg air filter in my truck and think its seen its best days and possibly think the standard could be better

now is thera a reason why the standard filter has whadding onthe intake side

and would ithurt if i took it off

Big Steve,

I too use an ITG performance filter, I thought the operating principles are the same as K & N namely you just clean and relube?
With regards to removal of the wadding on the OE filter, this would just mean that the particles filtered out by the wadding will be 'engine bound' instead! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

yer but it is no different to a standard td5 filter without it ? 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs

Apart of course from the fact the ITG filter is lubricated with oil to catch the particles whereas the standard filter isn't lubricated!!! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

And dont forget that if you use a lubricated filter it will dirty your MAF. Lost count of the numbers that i have replaced because the boy racers fit them to there cars!

In my opinion you really cant beat a genuine filter for a land rover!
