2001 Defender 110 Td5 CSW Java Black
KBX Grilles
I am interested in getting the KBX grille and headlight surrounds, I know I want them in java black to match my Defender but not sure about standard vs premium. I know standard is powder coated black mesh and premium is stainless steel which is better hence slightly more expensive but I think I would prefer the subtle black mesh on my defender. The trouble is I want to know if there's any issues with the black mesh looking tatty after a year or so compared to the stainless steel. In which case I'm better off spending £20 more and putting up with the bling factor of it.

Mine had the standard....
I soon became tired of trying to keep it looking good.
I replaced with some stainless sheet...a very simple job

Go for the premium, stainless steel is always the best. You could always remove the stainless grill and spray it Java Black then you would have the best of both worlds, the colour you wanted and something that will not rust.

The Premium is probably the better option...
But I do think the ”mesh" quality lets down a great product
It's an easy mod if you wish thou
