A false slipping belt
Hi there

i like to know if someone had the same problem in the past.

1 week ago our Defender start to had a noise that we believe were the ancilliary belt.
At this moment the 80.000 km check service was quite near, so we wait to make all together.

The dealer check it and was agreed that the problem were the belt and they change it. But for their surprise (and mine also) during the road test the noise was still there Shocked Shocked Shocked

Finally their localize the fault as a air leaking (that sound equal to a sliipery belt) in the turbo between a seal and the turbo admission. According to them is not a problem to have this leak and the work to locate the fault and repair it will be postponed until next week, so I can had my defender during the weekend.

Cheers! Eduardo

Things are getting worse Big Cry Big Cry

The problem is a seal in the turbo and they must to take out and open it (according to them the second one with the same problem)
I can use it but the noise drives me crazy. Will be sorted on Thursday I hope Sad

As usual, they forgot to put the door window handle and they make a huge scratch in the fender and finally one of the mugguards flaps went off (a screw dissapear) Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Also during this morning (not quite cold) the engine loss power at the beginning. That was for 1-2 minutes and then goes OK.

I didn't tried the jacking point again, but they made a huge correction there adding a plate to keep the tube in place ... Eduardo
