So 1 weeks has passed and I am still loving it!!
The highlights for me are:
Only negative so far would be the quality of the rubber matting (chose rubber flooring instead of carpeting) - it looks cheap and also looks like a 12 year old cut it out with a blunt pair of scissors. There is a little road noise through the rear wheel arches as they are bare, but I just turnup the bluetooth music and its job done. |

Stonechip and or soundproofing for the rear arches are your friend.

Is this headlining jus coming as standard on XS now then? looks good! How are you finding the seats, are they noticeably more comfortable for long journeys? does it change what you get in the back? |

Not sure if the headlining is standard on XS, I wasn't expecting it, but I am really pleased it has it. Come to think of it I don't believe it was an option when we ordered so may be it is standard.
As for the seats, yes they are more comfortable, worth the money in my opinion. Don't think they make any difference in the back, I think they are just taller and have more padding either side of your back. |

I think the dark headlining is standard now on XS spec, think I read this in a dealer note for MY15 Defenders.

Lovely truck. Love the colour - mine is this colour and it really sparkles in the sunshine. I added the premium seats after just a week as I found the standard ones hurt my back. The premiums are excellent - drove mine to Germany in one day and still felt relaxed and comfortable with no back ache.
My wheel arches were tin so I fitted sound deadening and carpet in the back and it made a massive difference. Well worth the effort. Enjoy the truck - I love mine to bits after 6000 miles in 4 months. |

Well it's now her 11th birthday!
Over the 11 years the following has happened... - Had a fault with the indicators, where one of the wires in the engine bay rubbed through on the abs pipes. - Had a blown intercooler hose (biggest fail so far, but still managed to limp to the campsite and fix the issue myself). - Replaced the continentals with BFG KM3 255x85x16's - Replaced the head unit with a JVC KDX561DBT. - Replaced the mudflap brackets with stainless ones, kept the original rubber flaps though. - Added the flatdog rax and ladder. - Added a mantec spare wheel carrier due to the extra weight of the BFG's! - Been to the Isle of Mull, the Outer Hebrides, the Mull of Galloway and Cornwall twice with our Basecamp. - Done 70k miles - Enjoy ever single moment! ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge |
