I hate to sound like a grumpy old man and its nice that the fans are happy to see it, but i live by york racecourse and stage 2 is starting there on sunday and every charity race and every tom dick and harry want to have there partys there which means all the roads get shut.
I need to get to work aas the trim shop is non stop rite now so losing a days work isnt an option for me what with billing coming up and the demo in progress stock levels drasticaly low. I am happy for the fans but i wish they could find a different place for these things to be held |

You're lucky. Harrogate is totally stuffed. Town has had major road closures since yesterday. Tomorrow there's effectively one road in and out of the horse shoe which will be a nightmare. Hotels and eateries are the only places not suffering and normal business practices like banking appointments are basically a no go. Then on Sunday it's coming back through again on its way to Sheffield. Monday is clear up day so that will be a mess too and then on Tuesday it's the great Yorkshire show for 3 days. If it weren't for the sake of the welfare of the sheep I would be on holiday but as with so many people who have a business to run leaving is not an option. Everything is awesome! Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Did you live there before it was built? ![]() Will never understand your view - move to a very busy place and then moan about it! Seriously take Norman Tebbitt's advice and get on your bike. PS - Looks like some heavy rain is forecast for the early hours of Sat morning but should be dry by the time the race hits Harewood House. |

supacat i chose this area because of the school rating for the kids its very hard to get into the school in this area if you dont live on the doorstep, i dont think my kids education should suffer because of a few bikes

I keep telling you Rich, don't bother going home, just stay working at the Unit overnight

Might sound like a cheeky suggestion on your part Matt but a lot of business owners in Haworth are camping in their shops overnight.
If you had let us know earlier we could have lent Rich an oztent stretcher. ![]() Barbara |

If you look in the back of the workshop you may just see a row of cubby boxes all stitched lovingly together in the form of a luxury camp bed

I'm really looking forward to it, I'm working for the Ambulance service and it has been a monster of a task to get everyone in the right place with the right access etc but at least I have been posted to Kidstones bank and Newbiggin in the Dales for Saturday which are the hill climb and sprint sections

Am I the only one that can't understand how it's the Tour de France...in England?

Hope to see some of it as I am going to an area they will be racing through, however I have a service booked for my Caravan at Glossop caravans and all the roads near by have been closed due to the event I am informed, I have to do a thirty mile detour to get to the service centre.
Mind you would make interesting TV if all the competitive cyclists were all bunched up behind the Landy and Caravan travelling slow round the many bends. |

although i have been told something that i thaught was quite funny from the other half she i under the impression that the guy in the yellow jersy is the pace man and he stays at the front to show the other riders the route
![]() my thinking is if that is the case(which it clearly isnt) why doesnt he enter the race if he is fast enough to stay at the front, i think he would have a good chance at winning |
