I'll agree it was a tear jerker watching the ceremonies on the tv today and listening to some of the survivors recollections of the landings and following battles thousands of lives lost because of a fookindozybarsteward called Adolf that someone should have taken out years before.
It must have been bloody scary being the first person off the landing crafts. Uncas |

I will Never "Forget".
When we were touring Scotland many years ago, we were in the vicinity of a WW11 Commando training area, where there was a statue of a Commando. Our tour guide, who was an ex soldier, told us that He (the statue) was looking in the direction of Europe, waiting for his mates to return. My mother's cousin was the Chief Torpedo Officer on the Hood. "We will remeber them", Pickles. |
