Installing a safari equip rock sliders.

Just spent a few hours fitting a set of rock and tree sliders from safari equip and cannot see what the large spacer disc and long bolts are for, any one fitted these before can shed an light on this for me please?

I fitted mine to a 90

Long tube is tapped to take bolt and washer.
