Towbar electrics problem. Advice/ Help please.
Land Rover fitted towbar and electrics. I have one of these Towbar socket testers that shows that everything is working correctly.
I have a new Atera towbar bike rack fitted with an EU 13 pin socket and a plug in 13 to 7 pin adapter. This tests OK with the same Towbar socket tester, BUT when it plugged into the Defender socket all he'll breaks loose. On hazard lights the Defender indicators and side lights flash together, and when Defender side lights on then so are the Defender indicator lights, all of them. L indicators then I get L indicators + all side lights. Similarity on R side.. HOWEVER there are NO lights on the bike rack showing. Sounds like a short somewhere . Does anyone have any advice, as I am not very good at tracking down electrical Problems. Don't really want to send towbar back for what is probably a simple fault which could be on the Towbar or Defender. Any advice much appreciated. Thumbs Up LANDYWATCH

I would start by taking the adapter plug and sockets apart and check for stray strands. Also check to 7 pin socket on the land rover you may find it full of mud or water. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.
