It's started, Longshanks will no longer be a Pick up
So today I removed the rear seats, headlining's etc then the roof and the rear of the cab.

Then unbolted the tub and moved it back a bit so I could cut the rear of the cab.

Having cut the rear of the cab I then cut the front on the tub off.

Then replaced the tub all ready for the mating Thumbs Up

"This just might invalidate the warranty" Question

Cant see why, nothing mechanical has changed. I agree there could be an issue with the rear of the cab but then again its not there any more so who cares Thumbs Up Razz

Rolled him out this morning and gave him a wash.

You will see the rear bumper temporarily bolted into place, this will be off to the galvanisers in the next few days.

Well what a day, trying to align everything, how the Censored these things leave the factory like they do amazes me. Nothing lines up or is square. This makes the fabrication of the strengthening and modified parts difficult to work out and make.

There is 10mm difference between the rear of the tub between the left and right sides, the body is +10mm to one side, The axle is even out by 13mm.

Anyway we got there in the end, sorted it all out mostly by splitting the difference and adopting Land Rovers approach of Censored it that's close enough.

Whilst waiting for an 8ft x 4ft sheet of 8mm thick 5251 aluminium to turn up to make the mating/strengthening plate we started on the AFN back to see what other mods are required.
