as your looking at the picture what is the silver thing to the far left up in the top corner inline with the pedal box bolts , looks like a cable end bit ( the outer cable end which normally has a thread and nut to hold it ) where the cable would come out , not original but looks like someone has fitted it after
looks like the inner cable and handle are missing
check under the bonnet down beside clutch master cylinder box and see what's coming out the bulkhead

At first thought it was some sort of bolt, turns out it was the end bit of an old bonnet release.
