| jimbob7 Member Since: 06 Jul 2013 Location: uk Posts: 2055  | Only if not given basic maintanance,Clean out the locks with clutch/brake/contact cleaner DO NOT USE WD OR ANY OTHER "RELEASE AGENT".Then use a suitable lock grease like graphite (which is a dry powder),I use lithium/white grease inna aerosol, coz it helps keep the sh*t out,DO NOT USE WD OR ANY OTHER "RELEASE AGENT".Defender locks are very exposed to the weather and road cr*p so suffer more than most,WD   lubricates the lock for about 10 seconds then starts attracting more dirt.Also clean the door rubbers with mild soap then treat them with a quality trim protectant, Gummi Pfledge is top stuff,this does 2 things protects the rubber from rotting and stops the rubber absorbing moisture which will then prevent your doors from freezing shut. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EINSZETT-GUMMI-P...0397740572 Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5. | ||

 I bought mine in a hurry as it was on offer and then sprayed one half of a door rubber with the most acrid sickly sweet bubblegum smell I have ever smelt. Lasted for weeks  | ||
