Td5 Fuel Cap
Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me. I recently broke the lock on the fuel cap of my 110 Td5, 05 plate. There seem to be a number of part numbers for fuel caps, does anyone know the correct part no for this model and year?

Many thanks Dirty Deeds - Done Dirt Cheap

I bought the latest Puma type one for mine, the one with the "Idiot String"on it to stop you losing it.This is a perfect fit to the earlier Td5,s.
Do yourself a favour and avoid the Britpart one i bought one of these first to replace my lost cap,i thought surely you can,t make a fuel cap thats cr@p but was sadly wrong, the lock got stuck in the locked position after a couple of days ! Not much fun when you,re in the fuel station needing to fill up to get home. 2005 Td5 90 XS

WLD500200 is the correct one or you can fit later style with lanyard part number LR032977

Is it easy enough to attach the lanyard if I go for the later one? Dirty Deeds - Done Dirt Cheap

The lanyard aka idiot string requires a small hole drilling near the filler cap to fit the push in expanding plastic fixing. I looked at a 13MY in the dealers to see where the hole is on the current model and just copied that. 2005 Td5 90 XS

Idiot string is what I need. If I'd had an idiot string I wouldn't need a new cap. Laughing Dirty Deeds - Done Dirt Cheap

New fuel cap fitted. Thanks to SGH who supplied the part.

I now have two surplus keys for the old cap. Key no: A125. If they're of any use to anyone as spares please get in touch and I'll happily post one or both on to you. Dirty Deeds - Done Dirt Cheap
