I could re work my light guard myself but I don't want to, I like them as they are, I think their's plenty of evidence to support fitment of the mantec so I'll save my pennies and get it at the soonest moment

As you mentioned previously there is no point fitting a Safari if you have or it's your intention of fitting a NAS rear step. No amount of reworking your lightguards would be of any use.

To get them modded by a fabricator I would have to remove (which looking at the fixings, I don't think has been done since they were fitted) so for me it's really a toss up whether to remove it and have someone re work it or remove it and have the holes filled and have free reign over choosing a wheel carrier. Personally if I was choosing a new defender I wouldn't have LR guards on it. I might pop into my local bodyshop and see what they say. Thanks for your advice K9F, always appreciated and a big thank you to byjovecarruthers for that pic, I spent ages googling to try and find a spare wheel carrier fitted alongside light guards. 2007 (57) Defender 90 (Sold)
Looking for another to replace it.

The road less travelled.... is a muddy one!

Nothing to thank me for Josh. The latter option of removing your guards may be perhaps the best option. If the fastenings are corroded maybe it would only be a matter of time before you would need to do something anyway? Whipping them off and then deciding sounds good to me.

If my truck didn't come with light guards I wouldn't have fitted them, but they are fitted and I don't fancy having holes filled, or having useless screws or additional rivets to cover the holes.

Mine came with a NAS step and light guards. I did a bit of research and found the Mantec carrier fitted fine. It's expensive but is a well made item.
