2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 DCPU Alpine White

Check your Door Stopper bolts ( door check strap )

I was fiddling with my puma doors and heard some rattle , what I found out was that the bolts holding the door stopper iron ( not sure about the word for it , the chrome metal bar that protects the door from opening to far ) The bolts that fasten the bar to the body where almost fallen out. Had to screw it many rounds to fasten it both driver and passengers side.

Its these here , where its bracket fasten to the body.

How do you tighten these? Is that why they don't always hold the door open when you want it too?

I just

I just fasten it with a 8mm socket on a small 1/4th inch ratchet. Its no problem, you can pull the plastic cover from the inner bolt with your fingers to get access with the ratchet and the bolt closer to the door seal is easily accessible. http://www.defender2.net/gallery/index.php?cat=13451
