Keyfob battery
My keyfob turns the hazzard lights on when locking but no longer does so when unlocking.
Is this a sign that the battery needs replacing?
I would try the other fob but it's at the bottom of the wife's handbag, so it's quicker to ask on here.

Mine has done this for a while.
Just changed the battery as previously said & voila it's working again.
So simple yet so annoying when it wasn't working.
The things people know on here are brilliant.
Easy fix even for me.

It's supposed to be done as part of a two year service I believe. Not sure how much for an individual one off but think it's worth your while doing it yourself. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

The keyfob battery is a CR2032. When replacing it just make sure you've unlocked the car & had the ignition on to position II before turning it off & splitting the two halves of the fob. Remove dead battery then press either button to drain residual power from circuits, then replace the battery (don't touch the battery if possible, but don't use metal tweezers either...) When you fit the two halves back together, press the lock button 4 times the the unlock button once to re-sync it with the alarm ECU. Job Done. Mark S

Took the Defender in to get the wipers fixed today.
Asked them to change the keyfob battery while they were at it.
Robert took the fob to the back of the garage where the batteries were stored, slipped the old one out, put a fresh one in and went back to the Defender. Works perfectly. Why all the supposed 'Masonic' ritual? Confused
