Defender 90 200tdi fan ?
Hi guys

I want to remove my fan but the pulley turns with the fan when I try to undo it, I am not sure which way you undo it but tried hitting the spanner with my hand either way and it just seems tight is the thread L/H/tread like the disco 300tdi or R/H/thread and whats the best way to undo it if the pulley turns with the fan Smile Graham

Have you got a viscous fan spanner. It makes the job easy then. It's a left hand thread.

Also the pulley it attaches to has a hole in it which you can put a C-spanner on to hold it and stop moving, not sure if it has a designated hole to "lock" it with but I have always use a C spanner to great effect. Thumbs Up

Yes I do have a fan spanner but no C spanner but think I can sort it just didn't want to damage anything not being sure which way it undid but now I know I can sort it Wink Very Happy Graham

I drove over to my bro's and we managed to get it off but keeping the fan in the back with spanner just incase its needed Smile Graham
