Or even easier if your really worried. Insulate, remove, can / k line from ecu multy plug or 10as unit so no comms to diag socket. All looks normal but no comm to ecus.

Also the most recent versions of factory alarms seem not worth much.....
Someone I know in Antwerp just has his 1 year old Evoque stolen there. Was parked on the street,... and then not anymore. Crying or Very sad You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Key programming for later Land Rovers now has to be done by the dealer network as L/R have removed it from IDS for non franchised dealers. Defenders can be programmed by a lot of hand held diagnostic machines, you can even reprogram the EKA code on most models. A lot of vehicles are stolen using ECU's without immobilisers that just need plugging in to start the engine, scary stuff !
