As far as I'm aware from the couple of times we've installed / re-installed an LPG system, the tank should have a non-return valve, so disconnecting it shouldn't be an issue if it was all correctly installed in the first place. The gas should only come out when the all connectors are in place and the valve is released. I think they are supposed to have this feature by law anyway, to help prevent potential for ignition/explosion when filling.
There may be a small amount of gas in the pipework but this shouldn't be too much of an issue as it will just escape to air and disperse over time (just like when you don't get the camping gaz stove lit the first couple of tries!) I think when we removed my LPG system last time (when we were going over the to td5 dark side) I had about 15 litres left in the tank. It felt like I was losing a bit of money on it as I sold my kit on to someone - but it was actually convenient for them to have a bit of gas in the tank for setting up purposes anyway. If you do let any gas go please be careful on the location , Lpg is heavier than air and can sit in dips and depressions if not well ventilated so just because it is a gas do not expect it to just "disperse".

No problem Pam, I don't like to cause offence but thought it better to say something and play safe.
