Wolf Wheels- Largest size tyres possible to fit?(285 or 255)
I have done a few searches but couldn't find an answer to what I require.
I'm not going to be popular with everyone here for this, but have purchased a set of wolf rims/ HD which I might put on my next defender. I'm thinking of having them done limestone and wondered what the largest size tyre is that i can fit?
I'm naughty all ready to some, as have 285's on boosts and have a spare set of 285's, but don't know if i'd be better with 255 85 16's (Standard bf goodridge MT's) instead for the wolfs.
I was sure I saw a picture on here though where someone had 285's on wolfs but cant find it?
None of this is definite as might possibly sell them but wanted a rough idea first.

I think any size beyond 255 on on Wolfs you will struggle to be seriously covered by insurance in the event of an incident. 285 is certainly a no no, and plenty of people say 265 is too wide. I was hoping to go down this route too, a when I bought my wolfs, but bit the bullet and went for the safe 235. Remember, the Wolfs are only 6.5 inches width. 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

Tom,

Are your new white and soon to be limestone painted Wolf rims the genuine OEM spec ones, the genuine facsimile ones, the ex-MoD ones or the completely fake look-a-like ones? There seems to be a confusing number of variants out there?

I had some part worn 285's on my project90 on wolf rims for a while, until I refitted my 255's

Thanks Guy's
Cuthbert- There not the ex military but came off a 2009 130 from the man I bought them off as he changed to ZU's , so presume there heavy duty 'wolf' style. There Genuine land Rover wheels though.

Interlet- Thanks for that, sounds like i'll be best off selling them and buying some 255 85 16' s if I decide to keep them and go down that route.

Diesel- Cheers, should of remembered it was your soft top td5 after the help with my soft top. Sounds like im going to best off with 255's as it will still be used on the road most the time. With being a young driver they like things like that as an excuse not to pay out, so wont risk it.
